About ACE Tuition

ACE Group Tuition delivers high-quality, well-structured Online Learning programs for students from Key Stage 1 to A Level. Immerse yourself in Maths and English education from the comfort of your own home.

At ACE Group Tuition, we understand that when you hire a private tutor, you are making an investment in your child’s education. Once that investment is made, you want to know that the tutor is well qualified, both in their subject knowledge and as a passionate and inspiring educator. You also want to know that the tutor helps students achieve academically.

Traditional in-person tutoring has its limitations. Due to time restraints of usable workspaces, travel time, and unexpected schedule conflicts, the effectiveness and needed consistency can be lost. Online tutoring provides the necessary flexibility and is an amazing educational support when it is tailored to a student’s needs and goals. Where traditional tutoring may include textbooks, worksheets, and loose papers, virtual tutoring allows for interactive tools and a more organised work product.

Zoom is easy to use and can be accessed with a variety of devices.

Our tutors are all qualified teachers who are experts in their field. They have experience at working with students virtually to increase awareness & knowledge, alongside building confidence in core and optional subjects before ultimately helping them reach their goals in future exams. The objective of our interactive online sessions is to enable students to improve on their understanding as well as build learning power ahead of those all-important exams.

Small Classes – the perfect balance to allow students to share ideas and get individual attention.

Like school, students are taught one specific topic at a time. Keeping students aligned to a single goal of mastering that topic. We use this approach throughout the academic year to cover a huge proportion of the syllabus.

All-in-one platform – All your learning happens on one complete platform, wherever you go, with access to weekly recordings to catch up a on misconceptions/ missed class or to use for exam preparation.

Qualified Teachers – hand-picked, well-qualified, expert tutors who are dedicated to providing the highest level of support.

Collaborative Virtual Environment – our tutors make a conscious effort to engage and involve every student in class in order to have productive and helpful conversations. We have some students that choose not to engage and our teachers are understanding to each students needs.

Interactive Whiteboard – this augments the collaboration between student and tutor to maximise feedback and ultimately enhance the learning experience.

Feedback from tutors – We encourage students to be as interactive as possible to get the most out of each session and students are welcome to stay on at the end with any questions in which they may have.

The Classes

We offer weekly online group Maths session for:

KS1 & KS2 (year 3/4 upwards), 11+, KS3,
GCSE Foundation, GCSE Higher Tier and
A Level Maths.

In the online classroom, children participate in learning in a way that feels most comfortable for them. They can share their ideas publicly to the group or privately with our teacher. Students can use their webcam, or just listen in. We advise that your child uses our interactive whiteboard as it improves the opportunity for assessing their learning and for us to give accurate guidance and feedback, although all of this is completely their choice.

We support your child with every step they take towards their goals in secondary school. Building a toolkit of skills, our Primary and Secondary Maths tutors prepare your child for their GCSE exams and beyond. They cover the following strands of mathematics:

Over the 2-year course, we cover the full GCSE maths curriculum. We teach huge amounts of fluency mathematics to improve their confidence throughout the early stages of each new part of the course.  We then focus on problem solving and reasoning questions towards the latter stages and improve on your child’s logical and strategical thinking, ultimately improving their chances of gaining higher marks in the final stages of the exam, thus improving their overall grade.

Lessons are carefully chosen from our planned and bespoke scheme of Works. The syllabus we work to, ensures students cover the key topics most likely to arise in GCSE exams, which means we closely support the work your child is carrying out at school. We incorporate learning strategies and memory boosting techniques. GCSE maths tuition lessons will assist your child in becoming an effective lifelong learner. All this work will build towards their GCSE maths exam in the summer.

Nearing exam time, we also offer a number of holiday camps supporting students further (if needed) on the build up to those all important exams.

Our Key Stage 1 & 2 small group sessions typically cover academic years 3, 4, 5 & 6 at school, and at ACE Group Tuition, students are taught to become fluent in place value so they can make connections between multiplication and division with fractions, decimals, percentages and ratios.

Every parent wants to give their child the best chances at school. 11 Plus maths tuition can help boost their confidence and prepare them for the future.

What does the 11 Plus maths exam involve?

The 11 Plus maths tests cover a huge range of topics, which your child will be taught throughout Key Stage 2, but at an advanced level. The content of the tests will vary depending on your area; there are a number of key parts which the tests will cover:

How can my child prepare for 11 Plus maths?

At ACE Group Tuition we encourage children to overcome any challenges they might face.

As with all of the elements of the 11 Plus test, the maths paper is designed to assess your child’s intelligence, academic potential and tests them on everything they have learnt from primary school, albeit at a harder level – so they are not easy!

How can we help you prepare?

The GL 11+ consists of:

The Key Stage 3 syllabus is normally taught in secondary school between years 7 to 9. It’s a critical time for giving students a solid foundation of knowledge and confidence gearing towards their GCSEs. At ACE Group Tuition, we offer 3 different ability sessions ensuring all our students get the correct level of support, at the right pace.

Coming from Key Stage 2, many Year 7 students find the transition to Key Stage 3 and secondary school intimidating and challenging. We make this transition easier by providing the core foundation of the KS3 curriculum, enabling them to get a concrete understanding of the key subjects.

For Year 9 students gearing up to GCSEs, we make every effort to ensure that student knowledge is sound. It’s imperative that students develop the skills and urgency required to take on GCSEs with confidence and these sessions do just that!

Our three different offerings:

Key Stage 3 – Confidence Building

This group is for those students that have missed building blocks from KS2 and have gaps in their knowledge in KS3. It will be steadily paced with lots of individual guidance, feedback and reassurance throughout the session. The teacher will model the examples slowly and enable mastery of the most important elements of KS3 to enable improvement and progression of all students.

Key Stage 3 – Intermediate

This small class will be paced slightly quicker as it is catered for more confident students. The pupils in the group will still necessitate direction, but the questioning will require more dynamic thinking. There will opportunities for extension, but this class will still be focused on the mastery of the building block skills of mathematics.

Key Stage 3 – Challenge

This group is for confident mathematicians. The students in this class will be pushed as the students are achieving at least the expected levels of KS3. This session will be fast paced recapping KS3 concepts and then testing students with some more complicated applications and exam style questions. Students in this group require resilience and this work will enable students to aim towards being fully prepared for the hardest concepts at GCSE Foundation Tier and possibly those striving to take the Higher Paper.

We offer a variety of GCSE small group sessions at various times throughout the week covering the following exam boards in a virtual class room setting:

Edexcel | AQA | OCR
